Actress Soundarya

Soundarya was the most popular Indian film actress. She was born on June 17, 1972 at Bangalore, India for Sathya Narayana and Manjula couple. Her real name was Soumya. She acted in many Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi films and got great popularity in Tollywood film industry. She was studying first year M.B.B.S when she acted in her first debut Kannada film Gandarva (1992). After the success of her Telugu film named Ammoru (1995), she discontinued her M.B.B.S course.

Soundarya played opposite all the prominent film stars of India. Amitabh Bachan, Chiranjeevi, Venkatesh, Nagarjune, Rajinikanth, Kamalhaasan and Vijaya Kanth are some popular Indian film actors with whom she acted.

Padayappa, Arunachalam, Thavasi, Chockkathangam, Ponnumani and Ivan are some Tamil box office hits of this great actress. Nanna Tangi, Gandarava, Aryabata, Naga Devathe, Sri Manjunatha, Dweepa and Apthamitra are some most successfully Kannada films by Soundarya In a Hindi movie named Sooryavansham she starred with Bollywood super star Amitabh Bachan.

Awards Won By Soundarya

Her wonderful performance in various movies fetched her many awards. She won Nandi Award for her woderful performance in the Telugu movie Pavithra Bandham in 1996. One of her Kannda film Dweepa got her State Best Actress Award in 2001.

Tragedy End of Actress Soundarya

Soundarya was killed in a flight accident along with her brother and other persons on April 17, 2004 when her travelled flight caught fire immediately after take off. During 2004 Soundarya joined with B.J.P. She met her cruel end on her way to Karim Nagar, A.P to compaign for the joined party. On that day millions of Soundarya's fans felt very sad about her death. Her death is indeed a great loss for Indian film industry.
