Shriya is one of the most famous reigning actresses in Indian cinema industry . She was born on 11th September, 1982 in Dehradun. She has acted in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English films. Her mother's name is Neeraja, a school teacher and father's name is Pushpendra Saran who is working in Bharat Heavy Metal Works. Shriya has an elder brother. She grew up in Delhi and completed her B.A (literature) from Laday Sri Ram College. Shriya is expert in kathak also. Before entering into cinema industry she had been a model and appeared in various advertisements including Brook Bond, Red Label and Lux.

Her first movie in Telugu is 'Ishtam' (2001) was not successful one. But, her second film 'Santhosham' gave her a great turning point and made her as one of the popular actresses of South India. Other successful films in Telugu are 'Nuvve Nuvve', 'Chnnakeshara Reddy'. She made her entry for Tamil via 'Enakku 20 Unakku 18' (2003), 'Mazhai' (2005). She played opposite actor Vijay in 'Azhagiya Tamil Magan' in the year 2007. In the same year she acted with Rajini Kanth in the movie 'Shivaji' which became one of the greatest Tamil box office hits.
